A selection of frozen berries are sold year round and during berry harvest season, (mid Nov till end Dec) fresh black and young berries are available. Our hosts gladly share serving suggestions and info regarding berry farming. Individuals, families with children, furry friends on a leach and tour groups are welcome. For groups larger than 8, we prefer a reservation.
Berry season starts mid Nov and runs till the end of Dec (around Christmas)… harvesting season is 6 weeks only !!!

The perfect place for a day visit with the family or friends, when in the surrounding area of Swellendam and surrounding towns. Enjoy a picnic on the banks of the Breede River, or braai at one of the designated braai spots, or Die Stroom function centre, also on the banks of the Breede.

An open, working pottery studio in the historic heart of Swellendam. David and Felicity are prominent South African studio potters who have been working together in the tradition of high temperature, reduction-fired stoneware and porcelain since 1973. Visitors are welcome to the studio and gallery in the delightful grounds of their Heritage House, ‘Bukkenburg’, bordering the Drostdy Museum Complex.

The Bee Things shop is perfectly located on the tourist mile! Surrounded by many fantastic restaurants to visit.
In these shops you can also find information about the beekeeping industry and practices, live honey bees on show and bee products, as well as local manufactured hand crafted items.

Kwetu Guest Farm
Kwetu Farm is home to a variety of antelope, including kudu, sable, eland, waterbuck, wildebeest (including a seldom-seen golden wildebeest) and 2 very special giraffes.
With a wide variety of birds, bird lovers will not be disappointed.
Some of the birds that can be seen are Fish Eagles, Stanley’s bustard, the Secretary bird, National Bird, Owls and the Blue Crane. This is just to mention a few.
